Senior Backend Engineer — system design & architecture

8 years of experience in software development, moving from a fullstack background toward backend and architecture. For the past 3 years at Blank, a neobank for professionals within the Crédit Agricole group. What drives me: system design, software architecture, and the technical organization of teams — designing systems end to end, cleaning up existing codebases, and helping a team level up. I built this experience on a TypeScript / AWS stack, and I’m learning Go, which I find better suited to many backend web needs.

Experience

Backend Engineer — Blank (Crédit Agricole group)

May 2023 – present · Paris · team of ~20 devs

Platform serving tens of thousands of active users across 4 brands (Blank, Propulse, LCL, Italia).

Stack: TypeScript, Node.js, AWS serverless (Lambda, S3, SQS, SNS, DynamoDB, CDK)

• Case Manager — project architect: application architecture, data model, and separation of concerns through to production; an internal tool for handling fraud alerts (accounts with suspicious transactions), used daily in production.
• Designed and shipped several product features (referral, SMS delivery…), from design to production, working solo or in coordination with data and product.
• Led the integration of a new core banking system (external service consumed via API): decoupling the existing system, progressive rollout via feature flags, and resolution of incidents and data desynchronizations.
• Ensured team continuity and technical leadership after the lead developer left: team reduced to 2 people for 6 months (successive departures, core banking system migration), keeping production stable and reliable.
• Technical reference for the team: onboarding and upskilling developers, code reviews, documenting previously unformalized business processes, and explaining architecture decisions.
• Designed a technical interview framework to standardize candidate evaluation within the team.

Backend Developer — STMicroelectronics

Sept. 2021 – Jan. 2023 · Paris · team of ~3 devs

Continuation of the Estimate project following STMicroelectronics’ acquisition of Wisebatt.

Stack: Node.js, NestJS, MongoDB, Angular 9, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Lambda, GitLab CI/CD

• Adapted the application stack to the AWS production environment and built a new NestJS microservice.
• Led research on AWS Lambda architecture for a serverless rewrite of the backend.

Fullstack Developer — Wisebatt

Nov. 2019 – Sept. 2021 · team of ~3 devs

Stack: Node.js, NestJS, MongoDB, Angular 9, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD

• Designed a set of services aggregating supplier data (Node.js, MongoDB aggregation pipeline).
• Split the existing backend into microservices, moved the stack onto Docker and Kubernetes; set up an on-premise GitLab for CI/CD.
• Complete frontend rewrite in Angular 9 (interactive schematic component, D3.js visualizations).

Fullstack Developer — Linagora

Sept. 2018 – Oct. 2019 · team of ~30 devs

Stack: Node.js, AngularJS, Vue.js, MongoDB, Docker, GitLab CI/CD

• Developed features and tests on OpenPaaS, an open-source alternative to G Suite, within a large existing codebase (a modular monolith partly split into microservices).
